Have you ever worked at a project that develops a life of its own? Since I received my first copies of An Explorer's Guide: Kansas, there seems to be endless positive energy infusing the process of marketing and selling this book.
Lisa and her husband, Mark
After all of those days away and weeks at the computer, there's a new level of surreal to the whole project. Did I really see all of those places, talk to all of those people, take all of those photographs and write all of those words?
Celebrations like this are always better when people that you love share it with you :)
But I also thoroughly enjoyed sitting in a room with more than 30 other authors, at Town Crier bookstore in Emporia, Kan., on June 18th; and then selling books while sipping wine the following day and on June 26, at Somerset Ridge Vineyard & Winery, in Somerset.
Books sold since May 29, from cases I've purchased: 46
Books sold from Town Crier's inventory: 6 in two hours
Books sold from Somerset's inventory: 6-7 in two hours
Let the good times roll!
